I SOLEMNLY SWEAR THERE WILL BE NO SPOILERS IN THIS JOURNAL.

Just watched the cutscenes for KH3D and... well, I was very pleasantly surprised. The game is definitely something. I have to be honest, when I heard there was a game coming out on the 3DS, I wasn't looking forward to it: yet another spin-off to take our minds off the ridiculous wait for KH3, right? Wrong.
The storyline in this installment of the series is so clever and clearly well thought out by the KH team. There were a lot of surprises I didn't see coming, whether it was characters, the worlds featured, or the twists of the actual plot itself.
Also, there were tonnes of Squeenix injokes, references to previous KH games and just general hilarity that left me either squealing or laughing myself silly.
Plus, I was REALLY glad to see Riku finally had some character development. Ever since the end of Kingdom Hearts, it's like the guy's been stuck in an emo pit, but he really came into his own in this game and really grew as a character, to the point where I actually was more interested in his side of the game than Sora's!

My advice? If you have a 3DS, then you NEED to get this game. If not, or you can't afford it (and/or a 3DS) at least watch the cutscenes - they tell you a lot about the story and tie together all the lose ends and left out explanations of the previous games in a brilliant way.
Aaaand if you're too lazy to go and hunt them down, here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=njqAN1… a link to the playlist I watched them all in :3 The quality isn't amazing, but it's the best you'll find at this point in time.

Enjoy!
